Recipes
Welcome to a more curated way to brew coffee. Inspired by slow mornings, ocean air, and the ritual of a delicious cup, our recipes center around five essentials: Fresh, high-quality small-batch roasted coffee beans, good water, grind size, a scale, and a timer.
Exceptional beans are where it all begins—thoughtfully sourced and roasted in small batches to bring out their natural character and depth. Pure, filtered, and clean water allows those flavors to shine. The right grind size creates balance and clarity in every cup. A scale keeps each recipe precise and repeatable, while a timer ensures every extraction unfolds just as it should.
When these simple elements come together, brewing becomes less about effort and more about intention—creating smooth, vibrant coffee meant to be savored, sip by sip.
Remember, these recipes are some of our favorites; use them as is, or adjust them to your individual palette and preferences. There is no wrong way to brew a cup of coffee. Try different methods and explore to discover your perfect brew.

French Press
French Press, No Plunge, 2 Cup Recipe: (16oz)
Coffee-to-water ratio: 1:15 / 30 g coffee → 450 g water
Grind: Medium/Medium-Coarse
Water temperature: 92–96°C (200–205°F) Lighter roast → hotter / Darker roast → cooler
Step-by-step:
1. Add coffee:
-Add 30 g of freshly ground coffee into the French press
2. Start the brew & bloom:
-Start the timer & Pour 450 g of water
-Immediately stir gently once or twice. Ensure all grounds are saturated
-Let the brew sit for 4 minutes
3. Break the crust:
-At 4:00 min, use a spoon to gently break the floating coffee crust. The coffee will immediately sink to the bottom of the French press.
-Scoop the remaining foam and grounds off the top — this reduces bitterness and sludge
4. Wait & clarify: (this is the key!)
-Put the lid on, but don’t plunge!
-Let it sit for an additional 5 minutes
-Grounds will settle to the bottom
5. Serve without plunging fully:
-Slowly press the plunger down until it touches the top surface of the water
-Pour gently to avoid disturbing the bed
-This “no-full-plunge” method gives a cleaner cup with less sediment and highlights coffee notes and clarity.
Large-dose tip: If you double this recipe for four cups, use a medium/coarse grind size.
Cold Brew
Cold Brew Recipe: (16oz)
Coffee-to-water ratio: 1:15 / 40 g coffee → 600 g water
Grind: Coarse
Water temperature: Room temperature, or cold filtered water
Step-by-step:
1. Add coffee:
-Add 40 g of freshly ground coffee into a jar or brewing vessel
2. Initial Pour:
-Add 200 g of water
-Stir thoroughly to ensure all grounds are saturated
-Wait 1minute
3. Remaining Water:
-Pour the remaining water to 600 g total
-Give one more stir or swirl
4. Steep:
-Put the lid on and steep at room temperature or in the fridge
-Steep time: 8-10 hours (recommended for clarity)
-Up to 12 hours for a stronger body
5. Filter:
-Filter through a paper filter, V60 filter, or fine mesh + paper
-Paper filtering offers the cleanest cup
Nuances:
-Agitate early (stir/swirl after pouring water)
-Use shorter steeps (8-10 hours) instead of the common 18-24 hour brew times - this often produces cleaner flavors and less bitterness
